James and Scott’s Greenwich civil partnership was a cheery do. This was the second time I’d worked at the Trafalgar Tavern in Greenwich, which is superbly located in the vicinity of the Old Royal Navy College on the Thames with views over to the O2 arena and the City. There was a warm, friendly feel to the day, generated by an up-for-it set of guests. I left them all in the evening working up a sweat to the ceilidh band. Earlier in the day, everyone joined in with a rendition of Aretha’s “I Say A Little Prayer” during the ceremony (pic 1). This musical interlude was a first for me and seemed to set the tone for a most enjoyable day.
