Documentary wedding photographer based in Tunbridge Wells, Kent
I am a full-time documentary wedding photographer based in Tunbridge Wells, Kent.
I love photographing weddings. Every one is unique with different couples, different venues and different sets of guests. The format of the day may be similar, but each wedding presents loads of great photographic opportunities and it's my job to capture them.
"Just a quick note to say that our photos arrived last night and we are completely blown away and overjoyed. We can't believe how wonderfully they capture the day and how unaware of you we were (in the nicest possible way!)."
Jo and Advait at Stoke Place.
Although I'm based in the South East, I photograph weddings anywhere in the UK and also cover destination weddings overseas.
I try to put all the information you'll need on the website from general Wedding Galleries, which have been set up to highlight my particular style of reportage wedding photography. You can also see Recent Weddings I have photographed in full and there are individual galleries from some of the Kent Wedding Venues I have photographed at such as Penshurst Place.
As a wedding photojournalist, I work unobtrusively with minimal interuption to your day. Obviously, weddings are great social gatherings and almost every wedding I attend will have a small amount of family or bridal party group shots. Of course, I'm more than happy to photograph them as these pictures in themselves become an important, historical family 'document'. But it's not my job to dictate what groupings are done; I'll leave that decision up to you. What I do promise is that you won't be standing there grinning for an hour and a half, nor will I be bringing a megaphone to round people up and tripods will not make an appearance.
Some of the lovely hand-written notes from happy clients can be found on my Wedding Photography Testimonials page.
Feel free to get in contact if you need any further information or would like to check my availability to photograph your wedding.

What's my style and approach to photographing weddings? As a documentary wedding photographer, I see my job as being there to photograph your wedding day as it happens with minimal fuss and staging. Whether you call this documentary wedding photography, wedding photojournalism or reportage wedding photography, it's pretty much the same thing.
It's about working unobtrusively, capturing the day as it happens. It's about storytelling, using pictures to illustrate those special moments that make up one of the most important days of your lives. It's about looking for interesting pictures and angles, using fast lenses and working with the available light.
I like to blend in and photograph the day as it unfolds in front of me, with minimal interuption. This allows you to get on and enjoy your day, while I capture natural wedding photographs that will tell the story of your day.

Yesterday, I visited the TopFotoGallery in Edenbridge to view the Jane Bown “Exposures” exhibition. In her eighties now, Bown is mostly known for her portrait work at The Observer, which started way back in 1949. This long relationship with the paper has led her to photograph the great and good from the past sixty years….
