I was lucky to photograph this wedding at Tonbridge Castle a couple of weekends ago on a beautiful Spring day before we entered this miserable period of wet weather.
Karen and Matthew have to be two of the jolliest people I have ever photographed. Karen is friends with my wife after they met at Hadlow College on an RHS course and we were invited along for the evening reception after my photo duties were complete to let our hair down.
The ceremony part of the day at Tonbridge Castle was quite intimate with only 30 or so guests. Once outside, we went off for a wander to get some couple shots. A little lad came running up to Karen and presented her with one of the lovely orange tulips that he’d freshly picked from the formal gardens. Being a little shy, he wouldn’t hang around for a picture but his sister stepped in.
Karen and Matthew, giggled and giggled their way around the grounds which seemed to rub off on me. Karen remarked that she could see my shoulders going up and down when I had the camera up at my face. Luckily, I still managed to get one or two in focus.
The reception was held at The Plough at Leigh.
