A new year, a new project.
For 2014, I’ve set myself a task of photographing one person, every day, until the end of the year. So hopefully I should end up with 365 portraits by this time next year. I will post one photo each day on this blog.
What’s it all for?
Well, it’s just a personal project to get me out of my house and away from my screen. A chance to do something a little more challenging that requires a bit of effort. It will mean that I will often have to approach complete strangers and convince them that I’m not a complete weirdo.
What am I looking for in my picture?
Interesting faces, characters, situations, juxtapositions, angles, light. Some will be close-ups, some will be smaller in the frame using the surroundings. Some colour, some black and white.
Where can I view the images?
I will post a picture daily here on the blog page of my website and also on my Facebook Page. I will also tweet when I’ve uploaded each picture (Twitter @craig_prentis ) and will tag each post from this project with #portrait365
I plan to use my Fuji x100s only and this will now go with me everywhere in anticipation. This is a great little fixed lens camera (equivalent of 35mm focal length) and is discreet and portable.
The photograph will hopefully take no longer than five minutes and the subject can give me as little or as much information about themselves as they wish.
So I’d better get out there! It’s the first day of my new project and it’s already 2.45pm the weather is foul and the light is fading! Wish me luck!
