Almost a year ago, John and Sarah had their wedding at The Barn Tunbridge Wells.
I was born and brought up in Tunbridge Wells. My wife and I lived in a few areas in London for about eight years. When our first daughter was born fifteen years ago, we moved back to Tunbridge Wells. It’s a nice place to live.
Although I’ve lived here for a long time, there are many venues right on my doorstep where I haven’t photographed a wedding. One such venue was The Barn Tunbridge Wells so I was pleased when it came up. It’s a great little venue. It’s a traditional Kentish style barn with lots of oak beams and columns. Upstairs is the dining area where the wedding breakfast took place. The downstairs bar area was used for the evening party and has a spacious dance floor and room for a band to set up. Directly off the bar area is the conservatory which is licensed for civil ceremonies and outside there’s a good-sized, enclosed patio area for the drinks reception.
In order to get a few shots of John and Sarah together, we had a wander over the road to Calverley Park. It’s two minutes away and luckily it was beautiful Spring day and the gardens looked spectacular.
