FAQs

What is your style of wedding photography?
Photojournalistic, candid, documentary, informal - whatever you want to call it. Essentially it's me getting on with shooting the wedding as I see it happening on the day. It's my job to supply you with a fantastic set of images that really convey what it was like to go through it and hopefully bring back lots of happy memories. As you will have gathered, my style is not about arranging people in nice groups and fluffing up dresses.

Does that mean there are no formal pictures then?
Traditional wedding pictures have always included group shots and I am happy to do some. I like to keep this to a minimum though and advise the couple to choose carefully exactly who they would like to feature in a group shot. Time spent waiting around for uncle Fred to come back from the bar so that he can be in the extended family group shot can be a little tiresome. I will spend about ten to fifteen minutes with the couple (ideally away from the main wedding party) photographing them on their own. Apart from this, everything else is shot as it happens.

When do you start and finish?
The package coverage is up to 8 hours and usually starts with the brides preparations for about an hour. Then it's typically turn up to ceremony (with a few shots of groom waiting), exit ceremony, drinks reception, wedding breakfast, speeches, cake and usually finishing with the first dance. Obviously, there are variations on this sequence, but this is a typical day.
Alternatively, with the bespoke pricing, you can now choose exactly how long you need me at the wedding and book by the hour.

What are the options for getting a larger album done?
If you need something larger than the popular 8x8 inch size album, there are Queensberry albums ranging from 12x12 inch to 20x16 inch. These are priced individually and this is based on many factors including size, cover chosen, number of pages etc. As a rough price, a 12x12 inch album with 12 pages and a standard cover would start at around £800. Obviously, the cost for these albums can go quite a bit higher but the pricing sheet should give you more of an idea how these are costed. You can either give me a list of pictures you'd like in the album or leave it more up to me. However you do it, changes can be made along the way after seeing PDF proofs of the layout and only once you're happy will it go into production.

Do you have insurance?
Yes, I have both public liability and professional indemnity insurance.

Do you cover civil partnerships?
Yes, no problem.

What happens if you are ill?
I haven't missed a wedding yet, but this is no guarantee that it won't happen. I work by himself on each wedding but have contacts with other photographers shooting in a similar style and would do my utmost to get the wedding covered by a colleague if time allowed.

What equipment do you use?
I use professional Canon digital SLRs and lenses and  work with two cameras on the day.

Can our friends see our pictures online?
As wedding guests come from all over the country and often from overseas, online viewing of images is ideal. Each wedding can be placed online with a password and prints can be ordered through the secure server with a credit or debit card.

Do you cover weddings nationwide?
Yes, but if over 50 miles away from Tunbridge Wells, additional mileage costs and overnight accommodation may be required for the night before the wedding.  Same applies to overseas weddings.

How do we go about meeting you?
I will meet the couple at my home office for an informal chat where there are various sample albums to view. However bookings can be made without meeting up if the distance is too far apart. Some evening and weekend appointments are available.

How do we make a booking?
A completed booking form and initial payment of £400 is needed to secure the date. The balance is due two weeks before the wedding date.
