Salomons is an historic Victorian buildings set in 36 acres of picturesque gardens, woodland, rolling parkland and lakes just outside Tunbridge Wells in Kent.
Formerly, this was the home of the Salomons family and is a testament to the enterprising spirit of the Victorian era. It celebrates the vision of two men – Sir David Salomons, MP, the first Jewish Lord Mayor of London, who courageously campaigned for the political rights of Jews and religious minorities, and his nephew, Sir David Lionel Salomons, a technician, craftsman and inventor, whose passion for photography, lighting and mechanical devices is evident throughout the house. He was the first person in the country to introduce electricity to his home and he also added a private theatre equipped with one of the finest electrically driven philharmonic organs (now the only one left in the world).
I’m on the recommended suppliers list as a Salomons wedding photographer, so if you’re planning your wedding, I’d love to hear from you.
